Good Golf with Great People, Gate Free

Our Story

It started with a simple thought:

“Why do you have to pay for an expensive country club to get the friendly competition and community that make golf so fun?”

Since getting more into golf post-college, I've always loved competing against friends, and I found myself craving more organized competition than one charity event a year.

But I never had any interest (and was certainly not good enough) to play in serious amateur events. I wanted to compete with a little something on the line, but didn't want it to be with people acting like they were on tour.

At the same time, I kept running into the same problem. Friends would bail on tee times the night before. It happened all the time. And every time, I'd think:

“There have to be thousands of normal, easygoing people who would want to play tomorrow morning… I just have no way of connecting with them.”

That's really where the idea for Offscript started.

A way to compete without it being cutthroat.
A way to meet people you actually want to play with.

As I started building it, it became clear how valuable the community side really was, especially for people new to a city. If you love golf but don't know the courses or don't have a group to play with, it can be surprisingly hard to get into a rhythm.

Offscript changes that.

It's a community of people who love the game but don't take themselves too seriously. A place where you can show up, find a group, try new courses, and yes, have a little something to play for.

Our members understand that the best part of golf isn't the score; it's the time spent with good friends or family, and the conversations over a post-round beer at the clubhouse.

If you're a public golfer looking to scratch that competitive itch in a laid-back environment or just want to connect with others who love the game, we'd love to see you on the course and share a cold one afterwards.

Ohh and when you see me shanking it just remember:

Offscript was built BY the average golfer FOR the average golfer.

Formerly SwingPass, we rebranded to Offscript Golf Club in 2026.

Peter Marchetti

After playing for years in my “locally famous” annual charity event, The Twisted Tea Off, I wanted to make these kind of get-togethers a regular thing. I love to turn anything into a competition and played basketball for a year at Colby College in Maine before transferring and becoming a washed up athlete at Clemson. Although I am not a great golfer, I will certainly talk trash to my buddies like I am.

Hometown: Norwell, MA

Handicap: 14.4

Favorite Course: The Walker Course at my alma mater, Clemson University. If you ever play, don't forget to take note of the tiger paw green on 17!

Favorite Golf Memory: In a charity golf outing with my dad and grandfather we Eagled using my drive, my dad's approach shot, and my grandfather's 20 foot putt. The tri-generation eagle will be tough to top.
